Capturing Memories on The Beach

This is my personal story and experience with my diagnosis in June 2005 of ovarian cancer, my thoughts and my day to day survival.  It is also my spiritual journey on discovering who I am, what I want to accomplish in the days to come and my way of reaching out to other women.  I would like to be a source of inspiration and hope, of joy and faith - and to share with others what I have learned living with cancer.  In the pages of this web site I hope to leave a part of myself, and to share my faith in Jesus.  I could not do this without Him.  I thank God for the blessings that He has bestowed...

I am a published poet, and songwriter.  From time to time I will add poems, inspirational Bible verses, and possibly songs that I have written along the way.  I will also keep online letters to my husband, children, friends and family members.  There will be a page for anyone who would like to contribute thoughts, opinions or possibly your own personal story.  I would love to hear from you, whoever you are and wherever you are on your own personal journey.  Let's create a safe haven and support system for all...

Poetic Prose

Kimberly

I stood upon the shore,

closed my eyes to see

the beauty and the wonder

of the place my life has taken me

In the stillness of that one moment

I felt an inner peace

a deep, abiding understanding

of the woman, that was me

With the wind's gentle caress

and the sun's warmth upon my face

I encircled my arms around me

until myself I embraced

And with my understanding

I let go of yesterday

opened my eyes once more

smiled, and walked away...
