Jesus and the Syrian Phoenician Woman |

|
"Yes, Lord," she replied, "but even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs," |
The text for the day is: Mark 7:24-30
The Faith of the Syrophoenician Woman
Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want
anyone to know it; yet He could not keep His presence secret. In fact,as soon as she heard about Him, a woman
whose little daughter was possessed by an evil spirit came and fell at His feet. The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian
Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter.
"First let the children eat all they want," He told her, "for it is not right to take the children's
bread and toss it to their dogs."
"Yes, Lord," she replied, "but event the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs,"
Then He told her, "For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter."
She went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon was gone.

I apologize for my mixed up format from day to day. Please attribute it to my "chemo brain" circumstance.
It is not Monday, September 8th, 2008. It actually is Wednesday, September 17th, 2008. But none the
matter. I wanted to finish this day's entry because day to day living leaves me distracted and discombobulated
as reflects in this diary of mine.
I wonder what my reply to Jesus would be
if I were this woman. Hopefully, I could come up with some wise, witty
remark that would impress Jesus enough to prompt a spontaneous healing. Knowing myself as well as I do, the doubts
of being able come up with such a reply has me thankful that I was not this dear woman.
My luck would be that I would stand silent, with a tied tongue, watching Jesus walk away - and me standing there
looking pathetic with my mouth dropped to the ground. Later, I would kick myself for not saying the million things I
have thought of to say in the following hours after the encounter! Yep, that would be me...

There has been a flurry of activity in the days between the pages of my journal. We have enjoyed friends and
relatives who have come down to see us. School has started up again for the year. Wow, that went by fast.
It is hard to remember dates when living in a climate that never changes. There are blessings and there are woes
with never ending summers... Mostly blessings, however.
I am going to update on all of the activities on the correct date. So please click on the Tuesday, September
16, 2008 link to glean more up to date information. Thank you, everyone who continues to travel with me down
the path, and through the pages of my life...
Love, Kimberly
Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify
your Father which is in heaven. Matthew
