Ephesians 5:15-20

15. Be very careful, then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, 16. making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.  17. Therefore do not be foolish, but understnd what the Lord's will is.  18. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery.  Instead, be filled with the Spirit.  19.  Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.  Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20.  always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Another weekend is almost over.  I am scheduled to  start my maintenance chemotherapy on January 10th.  Not looking forward to it, I cannot tell a lie, but I guess it is a necessary evil if I want to live a while longer and give my body a fighting chance to survive this cancer.

I had a good news/bad news doctors appointment after a follow up PET/CT scan.  The cancer hasn't grown (it hasn't gone away, yet, either) and the cancer water has remained the same.  If I want to live a little longer I will have to tolerate maintenance chemotherapy for the rest of my life.  I guess we'll see how that goes.  It has been a wonderful thing to be alive yet to witness my daughter growing up another year and to watch my son enter kindergarten to be a full time student.

This weekend was spent being close together as a family.  Gary and Drew have been having guy days together.  They have gone to the beach every morning to use the metal detector.  They come home with lots of little treasures.  This morning it was two dollars in quarters and three pennies.  They also found a pair of squashed metal glasses.  Everything they find goes into a glass vase.  It is so cute to listen to their stories when they get home.  They are sure a pair!

Megan and I spent a quiet weekend at home.  I have been fighting a cold and have been extremely tired.  I find that I am resting more than usual.  That's ok.  It has still been a wonderful weekend.  We had family devotions and each one of us read a story out of Drew's Children's Bible.  It is so cute listening to my little five year old reading.

God continues to give me one more beautiful day!

Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.               Matthew 5:16
